Pantelan Management Team

Pantelan has and is leading a series of investment vehicles, which address specific needs in the single family residential housing market and provide a number of opportunities for investors.  The Pantelan Management Team is highly seasoned, averaging over twenty years of experience in real estate and finance with experience across the entire single family real estate investment lifecycle.  together, the Management Team has worked with institutional single family residential investors since 2011, through prefecessor entities, prviding services that include evaluating and implementing business process improvements to enhance the performance of select portfolios of homes, advising on portfolio acquisitions and operating partnership agreements, and directly acquiring, renovating, leasing and/or managing over 3,400 homes on a nationwide scale.

With experience in finance, marketing, mortgage origination, property management and processing an array of variable skillsets, our core staff brings a unique and versatile perspective which has attributed to the development and implementation of refined business practices which drive our consistent "bottom-up" investment approach and success.

Paul Sveen

Managing Partner - CIO

Mr. Sveen is responsible for the strategic direction of Pantelan and its overall business operations including the investment activities of the Fund.  Mr. Sveen has over thirty years of experience in capital markets, finance and real estate related businesses. Mr. Sveen has spent the past decade leading several businesses in the real estate investment arena which provided mortgage lending, default services, and rental home investment opportunities. Mr. Sveen’s thorough understanding of both business operations and capital markets provides him with a unique perspective and skill set applicable to the SFR market.  In the SFR rental market, Mr. Sveen has advised and provided operational services to many of the largest institutional investors in the industry.


During his nineteen year career at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Sveen led several asset monetization and securitization businesses which included key participation in developing new assets and enhancing existing asset classes. Mr. Sveen also held leadership positions at Lehman Brothers' affiliate, Aurora Loan Services, during its growth into the nation’s leading Alt-A loan originator and servicer. Mr. Sveen has advised several private equity firms on investments in the mortgage origination and servicing business, as well as directly managed the restructuring of a turnaround residential management and default services company.


Mr. Sveen received his B.A. in Economics from Saint Lawrence University and attended the University of Oslo.

Mark Parker

Head of Investor Development & Relations

Mr. Parker is responsible for managing investor relations along with structuring and leading investment and funding transactions.  Mr. Parker has 25 years of experience in the banking industry working with private, public and nonprofit organizations.


Prior to joining Pantelan, Mr. Parker spent 19 years with U.S. Bank, serving as Division Manager and Senior Vice President for the commercial banking group. Mr. Parker’s group covered national Broker-Dealers, Hedge Funds, Nonprofit Organizations and Sports Finance. Mr. Parker has experience in lending, trust and custody, fiduciary, merchant, treasury and cash management services. During his time with U.S. Bank, Mr. Parker led the United Way and American Heart Association campaigns for the Denver market and was a five time recipient of the prestigious Vanguard Award, which is annually awarded to U.S. Bank’s top 15 bankers. In addition to commercial banking, Mr. Parker has held leadership positions in mortgage banking and wealth management. Over the past four years, Mr. Parker has built a successful franchised business while advising select past clients on commercial and residential real estate transactions.  Mr. Parker currently serves on the board of SCL Heath, Lutheran Medical Center Foundation and chairs its finance committee.  He has also served as the Chair of the Aurora Economic Development Council (Denver, CO) and has been on the governing boards of Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver and Aurora Mental Health Center.


Mr. Parker holds a B.A. in Business Management & Accounting from Evangel University, a graduate degree in banking from The University of Washington - Pacific Coast Banking School, and an MA in Psychology from Denver Seminary.

Nelson Soares

Head of Business Development

Mr. Soares is responsible for business development for the Fund with a focus on institutional investors and related strategic relationships, advisory assignments, and portfolio acquisition opportunities.  Mr. Soares’ experience has spanned over twenty-six years in structured finance, capital markets and investment banking at Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse. In his last role at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Soares was head of the structured finance client origination business and was responsible for all securitization business, including consumer, residential and corporate asset classes. Mr. Soares’ clients have included finance companies, financial institutions and corporations.  During his time at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Soares was also responsible for the debt capital markets group for financial institutions.


Mr. Soares is a co-founder of a business process services company which utilizes technology and people to provide document review and analysis services. The business has the resources to provide services to the Fund in a timely and cost effective manner in the areas of file reviews, title research, analytics, development of software tools and other targeted research for the SFR rental strategy. Mr. Soares is also an advisor for a SFR investment fund that continues to successfully acquire, rehab, manage and resell SFR properties in the New York metropolitan area. Over the past few years, Mr. Soares has also worked for a number of private partnerships invested in multi-family and commercial properties in varying states of distress located in the New York metropolitan area. Mr. Soares advised these entities on restructuring, lien resolution, realignment of property management and negotiation of sales to other private investors.


Mr. Soares has an M.B.A. from Adelphi University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Baroda University, India.
